Padel X Curaçao is the largest padel facility on the island — eight courts, a rooftop lounge, and a location steps from Mambo Beach. With over 400 returning players and 1,500 matches played (according to the club), it is the most active padel community in the Caribbean. Whether you are a seasoned player or picking up a racket for the first time, Padel X delivers a complete experience that goes well beyond the court.
Overview & location
Padel X Curaçao is located on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard, right in the Mambo Beach area. If you have spent any time in Curaçao, you know Mambo Beach is the island’s go-to spot for beach clubs, restaurants, and nightlife. Padel X sits perfectly within this energy, making it easy to combine a morning or evening game with everything else the area has to offer.
The club opened as part of Curaçao’s padel boom and quickly established itself as the premier venue on the island. Co-founded by Michael-John Every (an ATP-level tennis player turned padel coach with certifications from Malaga and Orlando), Rick Hooft van Huijsduijnen, and Joey Steenbergen, PadelX was purpose-built as a place where sport meets lifestyle. Its size, facilities, and event programming set it apart from smaller clubs. The venue is open every day, and you will find a mix of locals, expats, and tourists on the courts at any given time.
Courts & facilities
Padel X boasts eight courts in total, making it by far the largest padel facility on the island. Here is the breakdown:
- 5 covered courts: These courts have roof structures that provide shade from the Caribbean sun and protection from occasional rain. They are the most popular courts at the venue, and for good reason. Playing under cover in Curaçao’s heat makes a real difference, especially during midday sessions.
- 2 open-air courts: Fully exposed to the elements, these courts are great for early morning or evening play when the sun is lower. The trade winds keep things comfortable.
- 1 singles court: A rare find in the padel world. Most clubs only offer standard doubles courts, but Padel X has a dedicated singles court for one-on-one matches. If you are traveling solo or want to work on your game without needing four players, this is a standout feature.
All courts are well-maintained with quality artificial turf and proper lighting for night play. Smart camera systems are installed on courts for match recording and live streaming through the app. Evening sessions under the lights, with the Mambo Beach area buzzing around you, are a highlight of playing here.
Beyond the courts themselves, PadelX offers facilities you will not find at any other club on the island:
- Bar and terrace: The ground-level bar and terrace is where most of the post-match socializing happens. Full food and drinks menu, live sports on screens, and a relaxed atmosphere.
- Rooftop lounge: Head upstairs for a panoramic view of the surrounding area. It doubles as a workspace during quiet hours and a social hub during events.
- Academy and coaching: PadelX runs a dedicated academy with certified coaches. Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to sharpen your competitive game, structured training is available. Co-owner Michael-John Every coaches personally and brings ATP-level racket sport experience.
- Equipment rental: Rackets and balls are available for rent at the front desk. If you did not bring your own gear, you can be on court within minutes of arriving.
- Changing rooms and showers: Clean facilities to freshen up before or after your session.
- Pro shop: Padel rackets, clothing, and accessories available on site.
- Ice baths and wellness: A wellness area with ice baths for recovery after intense sessions — a rare feature for a padel club anywhere, let alone in the Caribbean.
- Kids playground: Families are welcome. A playground keeps younger visitors entertained while parents play.
How to book
PadelX has its own app for booking and more. You have two options:
-
Padel X app: Download the Padel X Curaçao app from the App Store or Google Play. Create an account, select your preferred date and time, choose a court, and confirm your booking. Beyond booking, the app lets you invite friends, track your match history, watch live streams from the court cameras, and stay updated on events and activities.
-
Phone or WhatsApp: Call or message +5999 675 0750. This is useful if you want to ask about group bookings, events, or if you are having trouble with the app.
Court rates: ANG 60 per hour (approximately $34 USD). Courts are bookable in 1-hour, 1.5-hour, or 2-hour slots. Court fees can be settled in advance or afterward at the bar, and card payments are accepted.
Cancellation policy: You can cancel up to 24 hours in advance through the app, website, or by contacting the club directly. If you need to cancel within 24 hours and cannot find a replacement, the court fee applies. No-shows are not accepted.
Booking tips:
- Covered courts go first, so if shade matters to you, book early.
- Walk-ins are possible during off-peak hours, but do not count on it during evenings or weekends.
Good to know
Padel X keeps things relaxed but asks players to wear proper sports clothing (shirts on at all times), clean court shoes (no cleats), and leave outside food and drinks at home. Water is fine courtside. The bar is right there for everything else. Spectators are welcome to watch from the viewing areas around the courts.
Peak hours & tips
Understanding the rhythm of the club will help you get the most out of your visit:
Peak hours:
- Weekday evenings (6 PM - 9 PM): This is when the locals play. Courts fill up fast as people finish work and head to the club. The atmosphere is great, but availability is tight.
- Saturday mornings (8 AM - 12 PM): Popular for social play, mixers, and organized events. The club buzzes with energy on Saturday mornings.
- Sunday mornings: Similar to Saturday but slightly less crowded. A good option if Saturday is booked out.
Off-peak windows:
- Weekday mornings (7 AM - 10 AM): Ideal for tourists. Courts are usually available, the temperature is manageable, and you have the rest of the day free.
- Weekday afternoons (1 PM - 4 PM): The quietest time at the club. Hot if you play on uncovered courts, but the covered ones are comfortable.
- Late weekday evenings (9 PM - 10 PM): The last slot of the day. Courts open up as earlier players wrap up.
Tips for visitors:
- If you are visiting for a week or more, ask about multi-session packages. The club sometimes offers deals for repeat players.
- Bring plenty of water. The bar has drinks, but having your own bottle courtside is essential.
- Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early. This gives you time to check in, rent equipment if needed, and warm up.
- Ask about social events. Padel X regularly organizes mixers, americano tournaments, and social evenings where you can meet local players and other visitors. These events are often the highlight of a padel trip to Curaçao.
How to get there
Padel X is easy to reach from anywhere on the island:
From Willemstad center (Punda/Otrobanda): Head southeast on the coastal road toward Mambo Beach. The drive takes about 10 minutes. Follow signs for Mambo Beach Boulevard / Dr. Martin Luther King Blvd. The club is on the boulevard, clearly signposted.
From Jan Thiel Beach area: A short 5-minute drive west along the coast road. Jan Thiel and Mambo Beach are neighboring areas, so getting between them is quick and straightforward.
From the airport (Hato): About a 20-minute drive south. Take the main highway toward Willemstad and follow signs for Mambo Beach once you get close.
From the cruise terminal: Approximately 15 minutes by taxi. Ask your driver for Padel X at Mambo Beach, and they will know exactly where to go.
Parking: Free parking is available at the Mambo Beach area. The lot can get busy on weekend evenings, but during daytime hours you will have no trouble finding a spot.
Our verdict
PadelX Curaçao is the flagship padel venue on the island, and it earns that status. The combination of eight quality courts (five covered), a dedicated singles court, an academy with certified coaches, ice baths, a kids playground, and a prime Mambo Beach location makes it the most complete padel experience in Curaçao.
For tourists, it is the obvious first stop. The booking app is straightforward, equipment rental is available, and the social event calendar means you can show up solo and walk away with new playing partners. The covered courts are a genuine advantage in the Caribbean heat, and evening play under the lights with a post-game drink at the bar or rooftop lounge is hard to beat.
For competitive players, the court quality is solid, the smart camera systems let you review your matches, and the regular tournament scene means you can find challenging opponents.
For families, the kids playground and relaxed terrace atmosphere mean everyone has something to do, even non-players.
The only downside is that peak-hour availability can be tight, especially for covered courts. Book ahead, aim for morning sessions if you have flexibility, and you will have a great time.
PadelX is more than a padel club. It is a social venue, a sporting facility, and one of the best ways to experience the active side of Curaçao. If you play padel and you are on the island, put this one at the top of your list. For a side-by-side look at how Padel X stacks up against the other venues, see our comparison of all six clubs, or read the complete guide to padel in Curaçao for a broader overview.
If you want the best facilities on the island and don’t mind the busier atmosphere, Padel X is the clear first choice. For a quieter, more intimate experience, consider Van Engelen Padel or Just Padel.
